For less than 100,000 marks, sailing fun begins in the nine-metre class. A solid size with high utility value. Depending on the sailing area, you can choose the Sun Odyssee 29.2 as a fixed keel or as a centreboard: Either way, it's a boat that can take a capful of wind.
The Sun Odyssey 29.2 is a modern, well-sailing family yacht for inland and coastal areas. The tested centreboard version had sufficient stability in 30 knots of wind. The large volume of space below deck is achieved by a high freeboard, which makes the boat a little less elegant. Manoeuvring with the twin rudder system under engine takes some getting used to. Those who do not necessarily need the shallow draught of the centreboard should opt for the fixed keel. With the exception of the unsightly berth covers mentioned above, the interior design is successful and durable. The price of around 100,000 marks is very much in line with the market.
